As part of the administration rapid infrastructural drive, President Goodluck Jonathan today performed the ground-breaking ceremony of the Abuja Centenary City Project put at the cost of N2.4 trillion ($18.6 billion).
The mega project was put together in continuation of the country’s centenary which was celebrated in February.
The President expressed joy that what was started like a dream had finally come to reality.
“We are developing the city for security, free trade zone. The city promises unique and global status.
The President said the centenary city which will start off with 10 storey building, will be a modern city which concepts includes presidential archives.
He said the city will also provide opportunity for Nigerians to share in the progress and aspirations of the country, stressing that it marks the coming of age of the participation of the private sector in the development of the economy.
