Following its addition of “Thursday Night Football,” CBS is shaking things up this upcoming fall in a scheduling move that deviates a bit from the norm.
The network will roll out its fall shows in a multi-phase schedule that begins with “Thursday Night Football” on Sept. 11 and continues through Oct. 30 with shows like “The Big Bang Theory” and “The McCarthy’s”
“The addition of ‘Thursday Night Football’ provides the flexibility to strategically roll out our fall season in multiple waves, maximizing promotional platforms and scheduling opportunities to give our new and returning series the best possible launch,” said Nina Tassler, Chairman of CBS Entertainment.
As if that wasn’t enough, CBS is also changing the game by ending some of its summer series’ seasons in the fall. Newcomer “Extant” and summer darling “Under the Dome” each have finales after the fall season has officially begun.
