Color Me Badd performed their 1991 hit and McDonald’s playland scourge “I Wanna Sex You Up” at the BET Awards Sunday night, but noticeably absent was lead singer Bryan Abrams who split with the band yet again last year to focus on his sobriety — recently spending six months in rehab for alcohol related issues. Abrams history of domestic abuse and alcoholism is well documented, going all the way back to 2007 when he appeared on a VH1 series called Mission Man Band (which I’m pretty sure I’m the only person who watched) alongside *NSYNC’s Chris Kirkpatrick and others.
During Sunday night’s performance, Abrams, master of the passive aggressive burn, tweeted support for fellow ’90s R&B band Silk, who also performed at the awards, in addition to retweeting only two people who apparently noticed his absence:
